A Lead Professional Officer or Senior Officer has a combination of job responsibilities relating to the following: mentor and facilitate student learning, participate in and manage innovation projects and manage laboratory resources.

They are seeking for IT professionals to support and provide technical competency in **Cloud management and DevOps practices and implementations **. In this role, you will work with faculty in the development, design, planning and set-up of IT laboratories for teaching and research activities for the upcoming joint degree in Computer Science between. This may involve activities to plan, procure and manage equipment in the lab, provide training to staff and students on usage of specific laboratory software or equipment as well as development of lab manuals.

**The responsibilities of this role are**:

- Mentor students during practical learning activities to enhance their technical problem-solving skills. The learning activities may be laboratory classes, projects or IWSP. Development of learning activities and assessment of students may form part of the responsibilities.
- Support research and industrial project work undertaken by the university, where opportunity arises.
- Work with the faculty in designing, planning and the continuous development of the laboratory facilities designated for teaching and research activities in the area. Provide training to students on usage of laboratory equipment.
- Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations
- Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
- Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- For those hired at senior levels, management responsibilities may be included
- **Strong technical know-how and practical competencies in the hybrid infrastructure and cloud technology to administer enterprise-level systems. Setup and management of physical / cloud resources and administration of virtualization technologies, Familiar with Cisco UCS, HPE ProLiant, Nutanix, VMWare, Hyper-V, AHV, KVM, VDI, Citrix, AWS, AliCloud, GCP, Azure, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, SDN, etc**:

- **Oversee and manage day-to-day operation which include problems / incidents management, capacity management, audit and infrastructure / network security scans, disaster recovery, security and availability management etc.**:

- Keen interest to support research and academic project work, with demonstrated ability in developing software solutions to technical problems.
- Possess strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment.
- Demonstrate proficiency to stay up to date on emerging technologies and pursue professional certification programs. Industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.
- **Possess Network / Microsoft / Cloud certification (or equivalent training/experience) preferred (CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, AWS CSA, VCP etc)**:

- **At least 10 to 15 years’ experience in DataCentre / Network / System / Desktop support**:

- Have **a degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline. Possessing a Master’s or PhD **degree will be advantageous.
