**Job Purpose**
Our client is seeking an experienced **Professional Officer (Mechanical Engineering)**to join their team. In this role, you will contribute to applied learning by designing and delivering practical modules, mentoring students in projects and work-study programmes, and supporting industry-linked applied research. You will also manage laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring safe and effective operations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and facilitate laboratory and practice-based modules
- Mentor students in projects and integrated work-study programmes
- Lead or support industry innovation projects and applied research
- Manage laboratories, equipment, and technical resources
- Uphold and enforce laboratory safety standards
**Job Requirements**
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s/PhD and professional certifications (e.g., PE) are advantageous
- 10+ years of industry experience in mechanical/mechatronics design, systems integration, or related areas
- Strong skills in CAD (SolidWorks), simulations (FEA/CFD), and hands-on prototyping/fabrication
- Knowledge of complex mechanical systems, materials/components selection, actuators, pumps, hydraulics, and PLC/control systems
- Passion for innovation, problem-solving, and applied research projects
- Strong mentoring and supervisory skills, with interest in guiding students in an educational environment
