**Brief Summary**:
The Senior Cost Accountant plays a pivotal role in overseeing all costing matters at Edmund Optics Singapore and Malaysia. Taking charge of critical responsibilities such as analyzing and resolving cost variances, performing inventory and standard cost accounting, this role demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of costing principles.
- Responsible for the full range of costing matters of the Malaysia & Singapore manufacturing plants using SAP ECC6/S4Hana.
- Review the factories’ current month cost variance and work with the production department to resolve variance and costing issues before closing the month-end. Analysis using SAP ECC6 and/or Power BI Dashboards
- Develop, train, implement, lead and monitor manufactory costing models and policies and make recommendations to improve/stabilize procedures and policies
- Report and analyze operational variances, including production order variances, purchase price variances, manufacturing variances inclusive of inclusive of machine, labor, and overhead.
- Perform inventory and standard cost accounting and control, participate in annual budget exercises focusing on operations
- Assist in the cost roll-up, obsolescence review for inventory, and annual WIP count
- Lead and review the cycle inventory count for the manufacturing plants and provide recommendations for process improvement.
- Assist and support in closing monthly accounts, timely submission of accurate financial reports, analysis, forecasts, financial statements, compliance with appropriate accounting standards, Transfer Pricing, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze reports used in the quoting process to include burden and break-even analysis.

**Qualifications Required**:

- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 4 years of experience in manufacturing costing, finance and manufacturing accounting.

**Skills & Abilities Required**:

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Knowledge in Cost Analysis and Financial Principles.
- SAP ECC6 experience is essential; S4HANA experience is an advantage
- VBA programming experience is an advantage
- Committed team player with a positive learning attitude, self-motivated, and good communication skills.
- Experience working with a US Company and cross-cultural finance team, especially in Japan, China, Germany.
- Able to travel Internationally.
