**SUMMARY**:
To develop M+R Singapore Airfreight Department and guarantee compliance with company’s guidelines as well as ensuring an extremely high service level is maintain operationally for our direct clients and partners.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Operations on an A-Z basis file, on global shipments reporting to the General Manager.
- Ensure operations of all air shipments are completed on time and efficiently and in a professional manner and according to the company’s policies.
- Ensure COD customers pay all invoices.
- Maintain monthly reports and comply with all management directives in a prompt and concise manner.
- Provide support services to the management and sales department for operational work.
- Handle global & local enquiries for air freight rates.
- Support the sales team/overseas offices/partners/agents by negotiating competitive rates for existing and potential business (long term and ad hoc)/bids/RFQ’s. Where it is necessary work along with the Regional Airfreight Manager on rate negotiations with airline/s.
- Diligently source for best rate options to remain competitive to enhance the volume of shipments.
- Maintain close contact with our core Airline partners and other sources to keep updated with changes in the market.
- Ensure rates quoted are accepted by agents/partners/customers before shipment is executed.
- Proactively follow up on quotations sent to agents/partners/customers.
- Minimize the risk, be it financial or liabilities, to M+R for all shipments in accordance with guidelines set by the management and/or SOPS and to utilize the company’s IT tools and to actively promote them.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all SOPS on a regular basis and keep the management regularly and pro-actively updated.
- Implement/update specific SOP’s as per customer's requirement's. Where necessary obtain Management approval and/or guidance.
- Maintain existing and develop new relationships with Airlines and where needed co-loaders in conjunction with the Airfreight Manager S.E. Asia.
**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS**:
1. GCE ‘O’ Level/ Diploma or higher
2. Fluent in written and spoken English and other local languages
3. Experience in Air Freight forwarding operations
4. Able to work on own initiative offering overseas offices/overseas and local customers a professional high level of service
