BACKGROUND

UntroD Capital (fka Real Tech Holdings) is a leading deep-tech focused venture capital and ecosystem builder originated in Japan. Our mission is to support change makers who give their heart and soul to solve societal and environmental challenges. We work in close cooperation with entrepreneurs, research institutions and universities, multinational corporations, SMEs with leading technology capabilities, governments and government-sponsored organizations to provide a full range of hands-on support to accelerate the commercial implementation of science & engineering-led innovations. We manage Real Tech Funds with over $300 million AUM and a portfolio of more than 100 deep-tech startups to date.

ABOUT THE ROLE

UntroD Capital is expanding its global fund team based in Singapore and seeking a dynamic, passionate, and highly motivated individual. You will play a crucial role in shaping the deep tech innovation ecosystem in Southeast Asia, by identifying investment opportunities with technological breakthroughs and high impact potentials, and accelerating the implementation working closely with our network of partners while strengthening and expanding it. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and contribute to the growth of the firm as we aim to expand our operations across Southeast Asia and beyond, keeping a strong focus on social and environmental impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a key player in our organization, you will:

- Conduct thematic research to identify investment opportunities that are fit for our focus areas e.g. climate, energy, agri-food, marine, biomedical, aerospace, AI, robotics, advanced materials, etc.
- Lead comprehensive due diligence on prospective investments across technical / financial / legal / commercial / operational aspects, including analysis on the market and competitors, interviewing domain experts and customers, etc.
- Contribute to the management and growth of portfolio companies by providing strategic support, operational guidance and other value-adding activities
- Expand the fund-raising efforts and manage the relationships with existing and prospective LPs
- Collaborate with senior members of the firm to operate and oversee the Singapore entity
- Participate in firm-building initiatives that will position UntroD as the leading deep-tech investment firm in Asia and beyond.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
You will be required to have:

- **An advanced technical background in natural sciences or engineering (e.g. PhD, in-depth work experiences in the STEM fields, etc.), demonstrating a genuine curiosity and passion for cutting-edge technologies**:

- **12-20+ years (Director hire) or 5-11 years (Principal hire) of professional experience with a track record of achievements and contributions, ideally with relevant experiences in early-stage investment or commercializing deep tech innovations**:

- Passion for leveraging technological innovations to solve environmental and societal challenges
- Excellent analytical mind and skills to be able to conduct in-depth due diligence for early-stage deep tech startups
- Good understanding of industry intricacies and a well-established industry network in one or more domains of UntroD’s investment areas
- Strong communication skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to both internal and external stakeholders, and a capacity to work alongside the entrepreneurs and gain their trust
- An ability to move fast and work autonomously while managing a list of firm priorities
- We are also happy to take interns who are pursuing PhDs in top research institutions, and interested in getting hands-on experiences in deep tech investment and commercialisation
