The **East Leader, Data Office** builds and executes against the strategic product vision and roadmap for critical and emerging data products and solutions significantly impacting the way our businesses and/or multiple functions interact with internal and external customers, ultimately enhancing and continuously improving products and services to customers as measured by relevant KPIs. This role ensures that any new or existing data product meets the evolving needs of the organization, through continual innovation, evaluation, and implementation. They coordinate the efforts of marketing, design, and production to test and develop new data products with a customer-centric approach and leads initiatives with highest level of visibility and complexity, including long-term planning. This role will also have a pulse on the ever changing/improving data technology, tooling, and strategy landscape to ensure Liberty Mutual is making smart bets to win with data in a highly competitive industry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Determines strategic vision of data for the East Region. This vision includes (but not limited to) key strategic data sources, data quality/availability, data literacy, data culture, etc. Ensures data vision & strategy directly maps to East Region vision & strategy as a key enabler. Must broadly understand LMG’s strategic and competitive position and how data products can strengthen that position.
- Collaborates with key senior/executive leaders in Technology, Data Sciences, Analytics, Security, Operations, and other Data teams to ensure all needs are met to ensure the value is obtained through this strategy. Drives alignment and decision making on key priorities, strategic direction, and problem solving.
- Executes on key strategic bets and day-to-day operational activities through leading/developing multiple Agile teams (through Product Ownership). Inspires a wide array of data professionals to do their best work to deliver value for our customers. Acts as a coach and a mentor for peers from a data perspective.
- As a Senior Leader within the Data Office, influences strategic thinking across the broader organization. Practices strong change management techniques to implement/scale emerging data technologies and methods across a user base of including analytics, operational, and leadership personas. Ensures a focus on #reusability of data products and services to drive speed-to-market and efficiencies - both within Business Unit and beyond.
- Has an in-depth understanding of new technologies, techniques, & data sources needed to progress initiatives, while demonstrating a masterful understanding of the use of data in solving a business use case. Has a masterful understanding of industry trends and leverages those trends to advance key processes and solution maturity. Creates roadmaps for product delivery, innovate and create new product ideas combining both internal and external influences. Can turn vague ideas or problems into a data product strategy.
- Able to identify stakeholder and customer pain points and strategically address those concerns. Able to describe value and influence the prioritization of data solutions. Able to organize and balance resources to address customer pain points.
- Effectively influences budget decisions and the management of allocated resources. Solid project management skills to ensure effective project execution. Expected to be a change agent across the organization. Can communicate effectively across multiple technical/business units and senior leadership. Maintains a close working relationship with data providers and partners.
- Ability to think through proof-of-concept solutions and how they will be maintained, and can help assess whether proof-of-concepts are viable and scalable by partnering with IT.

**Qualifications**:

- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Experience in communicating recommendations to senior business leaders preferred.
- Deep experience in Data Sciences, Analytics, Data Security, Data Management, and/or Data Technology strongly preferred.
- Understanding of how top P&C companies leverage data to win in key markets in Asia strongly preferred.
- BA/BS, or relevant work experience, in Computer Science or related field preferred. BA or advanced degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative discipline strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of experience working in coding and data solutions design principles, particularly in open source tools and technology, negotiating horizontally and vertically, with a track record of delivering products from ideation to launch.
