- Oversee and organise efficient operation of the company’s fleet of vessels
- Performs daily problem solving, troubleshooting, operational handling, training and supervision of crew onboard company’s fleet of vessels
- Ensures compliance to company’s Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS). Assists in continuous improvement or amendments to SEMS as required
- Ensures that all certificates, permits, safety & regulatory documents of the fleet are always valid.
- Ensures that shore logistic support for the vessels are efficiently handled and the resources are optimally utilized without wastages or pilferages.
- Ensures operational readiness and uptime of the vessels in the company’s fleet. Work in close collaboration with technical team, shore staff and company’s management to resolve all issues promptly and efficiently
- Conducts crew performance evaluations, ongoing training and assessments while building strong team morale and communication
- Assists in the continual development of the marine fleet operational policy, standard operating procedures, and safe working procedures
- Prepares vessels and crew for various charter contracts, customer audits, regulatory audits etc
- Conducts post-incident investigations and assessments - Follows up to ensure corrective measures are in place
- Acts as the Incident Commander during emergencies and salvage response situations
- Respective vessel masters will handle communication with charterer’s marine Controller of the Offshore wind farm, obtain sailing instructions etc, but Port Captain will be the escalation point above the vessel’s masters in case of any issues
- Works collaboratively with charterers and their representatives to ensure the highest level of service. A proactive client interface is required
- Enforce QHSE systems onboard in compliance with local & international rules, regulations and company policies. Highlight non-conformances and report near misses
- Enforce good preventive maintenance discipline (Eg. through PMS system) and drive implementation of company maintenance policies taking directions from company’s OTCQ organization
- In the event of an unfortunate breakdown, organize fast, reliable and cost-efficient repairs with the assistance of external workshops, OEMs and other technical contractors. Minimize downtime of the vessels ALAP.

**Job Requirements**
- Minimum possess Diploma in Marine engineering, Mechanical engineering, Naval architecture, Electrical engineering or substantial working experience in the field of operational and technical aspects of marine crafts and offshore support vessels.
- Good command of spoken and written English & Mandarin
- Strong Leadership, People Management & Communication Skills
- Experience of working in the repair/modification organization of a shipyard or as part of a new building team is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable ability to handle marine operations as described in the roles and responsibilities.
- Seagoing experience is highly valued, but not essential.
- Offshore Wind Farm vessel experience highly valued but not essential.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), ability to handle and administer ship management software such as PMS systems, Fleet monitoring systems
**Working Conditions**
- Essential to spend at least 6 months per year in Taiwan
- Drydocking of vessels happen during winter months (December to February) and the employee shall be present in Taiwan during this time. Apart from this, another 3 months at various time periods during the year
- May be required to be stationed in Taiwan for longer and unexpected periods of time according to operational requirements
- While in Taiwan, the employee will be working from our office in Taichung
- Frequent attendance to these vessels will be required
