Job Title: Senior Chef
**Job Description**:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chef to join our culinary team. As a Senior Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of ingredients and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. You will work closely with the executive chef and other team members to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Preparation of Ingredients: Take charge of the preparation and handling of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and seasoning. Ensure that ingredients are prepared according to specified recipes and quality standards.
2. Supervision and Training: Provide guidance and supervision to junior chefs and kitchen staff. Train and mentor them in proper food handling techniques, cooking methods, and presentation.
3. Menu Planning and Development: Collaborate with the executive chef in planning menus, creating new dishes, and designing innovative culinary concepts. Contribute ideas for menu improvements and seasonal specials.
4. Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation throughout all stages of preparation and service. Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to hygiene and safety regulations.
5. Kitchen Management: Coordinate and oversee kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and timely execution of orders. Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain equipment functionality.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the culinary team, to ensure seamless coordination and timely service. Foster a positive and cooperative work environment.
7. Food Cost Control: Assist in monitoring and controlling food costs by minimizing waste, utilizing ingredients effectively, and implementing portion control measures.
8. Adherence to Standards: Follow established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency in food quality and guest satisfaction. Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate them into culinary offerings when appropriate.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Senior Chef or similar role in a high-volume culinary establishment.
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and culinary trends.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to train and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred, but not mandatory.
