SG Internship Programme 2026
Our internship programme has led to the offering of permanent and full-time associate consultant positions to our interns since 2021. We are delighted to continue this in 2026 and start the search for our next Intern.
As an intern, you will work with and support HAMERKOP's consultants with research and analyses in relation to pre-feasibility, feasibility, impact certification and monitoring of climate change mitigation projects eligible to carbon financing mechanisms; as well as more policy-oriented and institutional research. Most projects are taking place in the context of natural ecosystems (e.g., forest conservation, reforestation, mangroves, etc.), occasionally other sectors, and support international development in Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.
The majority of HAMERKOP's clients and partners are private project developers and financial sponsors, international NGOs, start-ups, carbon trading desks and international development agencies.
Dedicated research:
If you need to conduct dedicated research as part of your MSc curriculum, this is a list of topics that are relevant to us and we could support you with: Aligning Nature-based Solutions (NbS) with SE Asia's NDCs; Best practices in carbon projects: lessons from SE Asia; NbS in SE Asia regional carbon markets; Comparing carbon certification standards for NbS in SE. We are also open to any other relevant topics.
Support a range of consulting tasks:
In addition, you will be offered the opportunity to support the team on a range of consulting assignment, giving you the opportunity to be exposed to the work a leading consulting firm does, including:
- Technical consulting work: emission reduction calculation, monitoring and data analysis, drafting of technical reports, analysis of developing legislation, carbon finance project eligibility assessment, among others.
- Others: supporting education material drafting, implementing of team work improvement measures, etc.

Q&A Webinar 2024 and Internship Blogs
Last year, we held a webinar in a Q&A format that was hosted by our Business Manager and presented by 2 of our consultants who have been through the internship programme in recent years. This webinar is available to view here: 2024 Internship Webinar — Hamerkop, and contains many questions and answers applicable to HAMERKOP, the journey from Intern to Associate and the application process. A must watch.
We have also asked last year's successful interns (who are all now Associates) to write a short blog on their individual journeys and can also be found here: The HAMERKOP Internship Experience: Three Perspectives — Hamerkop
HAMERKOP is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace and strongly encourages all candidates to apply.
