Cargo Import Officer

  • Basic : $2,000 - $2,900
  • Shift allowance: noon $12/shift, night $20/shift
  • 6 days work week, can choose work rotating shifts or permanent day, night or afternoon shift

Key Responsibilities:

Cargo Documentation & Verification

  • Issue Pick Orders (POs) for shipments and direct consignees/cargo agents to the assigned truck docks.
  • Verify and identify consignees and clearing agents against the Master Air Waybill (MAWB) or Letters of Authorization (LOA).
  • Perform standard documentation checks for import clearance (e.g., licenses, permits, cargo clearance permits).
  • Ensure proper handling of special cargo (bank endorsement, valuables, human remains, perishable goods, live animals, explosives, etc.).
  • Validate exemption status for controlled and non-controlled shipments (e.g., CITES, CCP, NEA, AVA, permit exemptions).
  • Check and record all necessary endorsements, licenses, permits, and government clearances in line with customs and statutory regulations.
  • Follow strict procedures for sensitive cargo such as human remains (Coffin Containing Corpse permits) and animal inspections (AVA requirements).
  • Ensure adherence to cargo security, safety standards, and SATS internal compliance guidelines.

Payment Handling

  • Check AWB and shipment remarks for applicable charges (freight, storage, survey, ramp service, cancellation fees, etc.).
  • Handle payments strictly via approved modes (NETS, credit card, company cheque, Cashcard, PayNow, FAST). No cash accepted.

Requirements

  • Have Nitec or Higher Nitec or the equivalent
  • Must know Microsoft office
  • Fluent in the English language
