JOB SUMMARY:

Support the Chief Engineer in leading the Engineering Team to carry out daily operations; actively involved in leading the team to maintain the overall hotel facility & properties (Mechanical, Electrical Fire Protection System).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan preventive and corrective maintenance works; monitor and ensure maintenance works are carried out accordingly
  • Conduct site survey of areas for improvement
  • Conduct Energy audits and analysis of utilities usage
  • Develop and implement energy conservation programmes; sustainable programs
  • Conduct daily operation briefing and communication with the team
  • Schedule the Maintenance Team to attend to daily facilities and maintenance requests
  • Attend to guests' feedback and take appropriate action
  • Monitor Team members' service delivery; conduct inspections or checks to ensure work is completed satisfactorily
  • Conduct Fire Safety installation checks to ensure all fire safety requirements are implemented
  • Manage and follow up with outsource vendors to ensure works carried out are in compliance with the company, local health and safety standards
  • Attend to, lead and guide team members in emergencies (such as major power failure, blackouts, etc.) during and or after office hours
  • Assist the Chief Engineer with rostering and deployment of manpower, recruitment, Team members' welfare, grievances and disciplinary issues
  • Conduct performance appraisals for associates; manage their performance and conduct
  • Recommend / facilitate trainings to enhance Team members technical competencies, focusing on WSH (Workplace Safety and Health), ISO, MEFP (Mechanical Electrical Fire and Plumbing) Operation and Maintenance
  • Execute hotel property improvement projects (CAPEX)
  • Assist with the preparation of Engineering Departmental budget and forecast
  • Liaise and coordinate with Corporate Office and Government Authorities, when needed
  • Cover Duty Engineer's duties when required
  • Ad-hoc projects and or other duties as assigned by Chief Engineer

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has the ability to make decisions and resolve problems
  • Strong Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing & Sanitary (MEP) knowledge
  • Preferably with strong facilities and maintenance background with a major in hotel facility operation and Certification from relevant authorities, such as BCA / SCDF / PUB / NEA
  • Knowledge in handling Green Mark project, an added advantage
