Assistant Hospitality Manager

Overall purpose of role: Assist, support and act as the deputy to the APAC Hospitality Manager to deliver and fulfil all the scopes of work undertaken by Compass for the BNY account in Singapore, specifically in the following key areas:
Conference rooms, Catering and Event operations
Prepare rooms before meeting + reset rooms after meetings, including executing all SOP and necessary preparations for EC / VIP visits
- Set up beverage trays + serve F&B
- Manage all catering and executive dining
Support any events (if required) run by BNY
Coffee Bar, Snack Bar (Grab & Go) and Prep & Reheat Pantry operations
Manage the appointed barista vendor at the coffee bar to ensure they are meeting the SLAs
- Manage the retail and preparation of pastries / food / snacks at the Coffee Bar and Snack Bar
Manage the operations of the Pre & Reheat Pantry
Pantry operations
Manage all pantries + Executive Bar
- Manage dish washers' operations
- Replenish supplies + manage coffee machines
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Coordination
- Liaise with clients to understand event objectives, requirements, and budgets.
- Develop detailed event proposals, concepts, and floor plans in line with brand and client expectations.
- Coordinate with internal departments (Culinary, Operations, HSE, Procurement, Finance) to ensure smooth execution.
- Prepare and manage event timelines, checklists, and run sheets.
- Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event reviews to capture feedback and improvement opportunities.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients and guests throughout the event planning and execution process.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and service excellence.
- Manage client feedback proactively and resolve any issues swiftly to ensure satisfaction.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee on-site setup, service delivery, and breakdown of events, ensuring operational standards and brand presentation are maintained.
- Coordinate manpower planning and deployment for each event, including liaising with F&B service teams, chefs, and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with all Compass Group policies, food safety, and health & safety regulations.
- Manage vendor and supplier coordination as required.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Support cost estimation, budgeting, and post-event financial reconciliation.
- Track and report event revenue, costs, and profitability.
- Ensure proper documentation, invoicing, and record-keeping for all events.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and guide event staff to ensure efficient execution and alignment with service expectations.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional working environment.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior team members.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance event efficiency and quality.
- Stay informed of industry trends, competitor offerings, and innovative event concepts.
- Support sustainability initiatives and responsible event practices in line with Compass Group values.
