Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor chemical plant processes using DCS (Distributed Control System), ensuring optimal control of parameters during startup, normal operations, and shutdown.
  • Adhere strictly to documented procedures such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), EHS regulations, and risk assessments to maintain safety and compliance.
  • Continuously observe DCS alarms, analyze deviations, and implement corrective actions based on established process guidelines.
  • Provide clear instructions to field technicians, ensuring effective coordination between DCS operations and field activities to prevent operational errors.
  • Exhibit ownership, teamwork, integrity, and a proactive attitude in daily operations.

Requirements
  • Diploma or Nitec in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a DCS Operator in a chemical processing environment. Experience in polymerization or extrusion processes is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of chemical processing and equipment, with working knowledge of ISO standards including ISO14001, ISO9001/IATF16949, ISO45001, and SS651.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work in a rotating shift schedule within a fast-paced environment.
