
Deputy Manager, Student Admissions

Key Responsibilities:
Admissions Event Management Management (Primary):
Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events, including engagement, social, and educational events
- Work with external vendors, internal SUTD teams and student leaders to ensure seamless event execution
- Develop event concepts, themes, and schedules to align with objectives of the Admissions team
- Manage event budgets, execute procurement contracts and ensure cost-effectiveness of expenditures
- Oversee logistics, including venue selection, catering, programme curation, and guest management
- Create communication materials to gather and manage sign-ups
- Handle on-site event coordination and troubleshoot any contingencies that may crop up
Post-event follow-up, including feedback, event post-mortem, updating mailing list, etc
Outreach and Engagement Activities (Primary):
Strategize engagement of prospective students, parents and educators
- Cultivate relationships with key personnel (e.g. career counsellors) and alumni
- Identify/source/develop events/platforms for deepening SUTD's relationships with various target markets
- Represent SUTD during outreach activities and conduct talks to convey SUTD's value proposition
Work effectively with SUTD pillars/clusters, other relevant SUTD departments and external partners to engage prospective students
Admissions Operations (Secondary):
Respond to admissions enquiries (email, calls, walk-ins) during Admissions Exercise
- Deliver high standards of customer service based on internal communication procedures and standard operating guidelines
- Coordinate and schedule appointments with inquirer
- Manage scheduled phone calls through Novocall System
- Review and update frequently asked questions (FAQ) for email enquiries
Complete general administrative duties that are required to support the Admissions team, SET department, and SUTD management
Strategy and Planning (Support):
Contribute to Admissions team planning for the whole admissions journey
- Analyze admissions and student data to track effectiveness of outreach/engagement efforts
- Continually pilot new ideas to evolve SUTD's admissions strategy
Requirements
- Possess a recognized degree from university
- Possess strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Able to multi-task and work independently, while tightly aligned to the organization and team's approach and efforts
- Be creative and able to challenge norms, be resourceful, goal-driven, diligent, independent and yet be a good team player
- Flexibility to work selected weekends and after hours when needed
- Up-to-date digital skills and effective utilization of social media, web, etc
- Experienced in project and event management
- Experienced in customer service delivery
- Meticulous and organized
One or more of the following will also be useful:
- Understand the undergraduate education landscape, including institutions and programmes
- Have a good understanding of the industries which SUTD students are employed in
- Have design/systems-thinking experience, inc. implementation
- Possess knowledge and skills of database and IT systems
