About the role

GTL AGENCIES (S) PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Shipping Assistant to join our team in the Bukit Batok West Region. This full-time role will provide crucial support to our dynamic import/export and customs operations, ensuring the efficient and compliant handling of all shipping activities.

What you'll be doing

  1. Coordinate and process all import and export shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations
  2. Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs authorities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of shipments
  3. Monitor shipment progress and provide regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders
  4. Assist with the preparation and submission of relevant trade reports and compliance filings
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping records and databases
  6. Provide administrative support to the broader logistics and operations team as needed

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar shipping or logistics role, preferably within the import/export and customs industry
  2. Strong understanding of shipping documentation and customs clearance processes
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
  4. Proficient in using relevant shipping software and databases
  5. Meticulous attention to detail and a proven track record of accuracy
  6. Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
  7. Strong organizational and multitasking skills
