DIP Engineer

Job title: DIP Engineer (PCBA/EMS)

Salary Range: 2,500 - 3,000 SGD

As part of a new PCBA factory ramp, the DIP Engineer owns through-hole processes across hand insertion, wave, and selective soldering. You will stabilize daily output and improve yield/quality by tuning processes, maintaining equipment, and training operators—working closely with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain.

【 Responsibilities 】

-Set up and optimize THT processes: lead forming/clinching, fixture/pallet design, flux control, pre-heat and wave parameters, nitrogen settings, and conveyor speeds.

-Program and sustain selective solder (nozzle paths, dwell, dip height) and wave solder; reduce bridges, icicles, skips, blow-holes, and solder shorts.

-Build process controls & documents: WI/SOP, travelers, control plans, parameter logs; enforce 4M change control and ESD/handling.

-Drive KPIs (yield/FPY, DPMO, downtime, rework/scrap); use Pareto, 5Why/Fishbone, DOE to solve top defects; issue 8D reports as needed.

-Execute PM and basic repairs for wave/selective/lead-formers; plan spares and coordinate vendor service.

-Support NPI/ECN: DFM for THT, fixture trials, golden sample/FAI, GR&R ensure smooth pilot-to-mass transition.

-Train and certify operators/technicians in proper insertion, soldering, and inspection methods (IPC criteria); sustain 5S and safety on the line.

-Collaborate with QA/Test on ICT/functional test fallout, rework standards (IPC-7711/7721), and continuous improvement.

【 Requirement & Preferences】

(Must)

-3+ years in DIP engineering within EMS/PCBA

-Strong knowledge of solderability, fixturing, pallet materials, and common DIP defects with proven yield improvements.

-Familiar with IPC-A-610 (Class 2/3) through-hole criteria; basics of IPC-7711/7721 rework; comfortable with ERP/MES line reporting.

-Effective English and Chinese to liaise with shop-floor teams and suppliers; willing to support shifts/weekends during ramp.

-Working experience in Japan or other MNC manufacturing factories
