The Job

The regional assistant manager is responsible to provide legal support to the organization and affiliates in the ASEAN region by advising on and upporting the management of a range of legal matters, construction contracts and other related aspects of the business operations.

Key Roles and Responsibilties

 Support legal functions and provide guidance on legal aspects for regional affiliates in response to affiliates' needs and objectives.

 Draft and/or review contracts, legal documents and correspondences.

 Identify and analyse potential legal and contractual risks relating to projects and business transactions and formulate risk mitigating solutions.

 Support the negotiation of contracts and transactions where necessary.

 Coordinate with and communicate advice to internal stakeholders on legal issues.

 Assist in monitoring and identifying potential legal issues as they arise.

 Recommend legal strategy and course of action in disputes and support legal proceedings where applicable.

 Assist with the development and implementation of internal contract review and risk management processes.

 Assist with the planning and implementation of legal projects (e.g.,internal legal training for affiliates' staff, standardization and update of templates and internal policies)

 Conduct legal research and stay abreast of developments in international laws, regulations, and industry-related practices especially in ASEAN jurisdictions and make timely internal updates.

 Collaborate and coordinate with other departments and external parties where necessary.

 Perform other related operational duties and administrative support asassigned.

Important Requirements

 A recognized degree in Law.

 At least 5 years of experience in international corporate legal affairs, preferably in construction industry.

 Good understanding and practical knowledge in construction law and contracts.

 Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.

 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and information security literacy.

 High attention to details, strong initiatives and sense of responsibility.

 Familiarity with business operations and jurisdictions in Southeast Asia region will be an advantage.
