As a Associate Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Conduct laboratory tests in areas such as haematology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis, and ensure accurate reporting of findings.
  • Prepare and examine skin scrapings under the microscope to identify fungal organisms.
  • Carry out slit-skin smear procedures and analyse samples for the detection of M. leprae.
  • Perform microscopic analysis of wet and stained specimens to identify microorganisms.
  • Ensure laboratory instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, maintained, and in working condition.
  • Participate in internal quality control checks and assist with quality assurance processes.
  • Rotate across different laboratory sections as part of work assignments.
  • Carry out administrative and technical duties as delegated by senior laboratory staff or medical technologists.
  • Sort and organise laboratory request forms, and ensure proper data entry of test results into the system.
  • Communicate with clinic personnel to follow up on test results and attend to related enquiries via phone or other channels.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Biomedical Science
  • Preferably with 1-2 years Clinical Laboratory experience
