We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Middle Office Officer to join our team. This role plays a critical function in supporting our finance, operations, and regulatory compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Control

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly Profit & Loss statements and cashflow monitoring.
  • Support expense payments, tax payments, and month-end accounting adjustments.
  • Prepare financial statements for audits, corporate tax filings, GST, and other tax-related returns.

2. Regulatory Reporting

  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate regulatory reports to MAS (e.g., MAS610, MAS649, Fortnightly Reports, Quarterly Income & Expenditure).
  • Liaise with MAS and external accounting firms on regulatory policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist in assessing the impact of new MAS regulations on internal reporting processes.

3. Internal Reporting & System Management

  • Manage the accounting system and maintain accurate data entry for internal reporting purposes.
  • Support the Back Office and Middle Office Managers with the generation and review of financial and operational data sheets.

4. Risk & Operations Management

  • Support the Middle Office Manager in monitoring and managing operational and regulatory risks.
  • Prepare daily monitoring reports and nostro reconciliations to ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
  • Compile reports for submission to the Head Office, MAS, and other relevant regulatory bodies including Japanese authorities.

5. Outsourcing Oversight

  • Assist in the management of outsourced service providers, ensuring all documentation and processes are compliant with both internal and external requirements.

6. Office Administration

  • Manage office supplies, branch equipment maintenance, and control of important legal/contractual documents.
  • Support office security systems and maintain a conducive and secure working environment.
  • Handle all incoming and outgoing correspondence and prepare administrative reports.

7. Ad-hoc Duties

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the General Manager and Senior Deputy General Manager to support branch operations.

Requirements:

  • Min 1-2 years of experience in a Middle Office role within the banking industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A collaborative team player with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
