Overview

We are seeking an experienced legal professional to support complex and high-value projects from inception to delivery. This role offers the opportunity to play a strategic advisory role across a diverse portfolio of developments and infrastructure initiatives. It is a highly visible position with team management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide legal perspectives that help shape project strategies and influence key business decisions.
  2. Deliver pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice on major development initiatives, including land transactions, project planning, construction activities, and sustainability or infrastructure-related matters.
  3. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of project-related agreements to ensure legal compliance and alignment with business objectives.
  4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as project delivery, operations, procurement, and technical teams to incorporate legal considerations at all project stages.
  5. Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments, providing guidance on compliance and implementing proactive risk management strategies.
  6. Manage legal risks and resolve contentious issues that may arise during project lifecycles through effective strategies.
  7. Develop and enhance internal legal processes to facilitate efficient contract negotiation and execution on complex, high-value projects.

Key Requirements

  1. Qualified lawyer eligible to practice in a relevant jurisdiction.
  2. At least 10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in private practice or in-house roles related to large-scale projects, development, or infrastructure.
  3. Strong knowledge of real estate, construction agreements, infrastructure frameworks, and sustainability/energy contracts.
  4. Effective communicator capable of simplifying complex legal issues for non-legal audiences.
  5. Leadership or mentoring experience within legal teams or project environments.
  6. Strong commercial acumen aligned with broader business goals.
  7. Proactive, solution-oriented approach with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Previous team management experience is highly regarded.
  9. Open to candidates from private practice or in-house backgrounds.
