JOB DESCRIPTION

Working closely with the Manager, Advancement & Planning (A&P) to drive communications and engagement in the following areas:

1. Internal and External Communications

  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy to strengthen engagement and advocacy among employees, volunteers, and external stakeholders.
  • Create and manage impactful narratives and content that articulate SOS's mission, strategy, and initiatives across various channels, ensuring consistency in tone and messaging.
  • Partner with inter-departmental teams and senior management to ensure timely and effective dissemination of organisational updates and key messages.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts and identify opportunities for enhancement.

2. Leadership and Media Engagement

  • Collaborate with senior management to shape key narratives for leadership speeches, media interactions, campaigns, and crisis communication planning.
  • Provide communication support to senior leaders, including crafting messages, talking points, and media interview briefs.
  • Manage media and PR engagements, cultivating strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and sectoral partners to increase visibility and positive coverage for SOS.

3. Branding and Storytelling

  • Uphold and strengthen SOS's corporate branding and positioning across all communication platforms and materials.
  • Develop creative, human-centred storytelling approaches that bring the organisation's impact and beneficiaries' voices to life.
  • Support the production of communication materials such as newsletters, annual reports, website updates, and digital content.

4. Partnerships and Advocacy

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with sectoral partners, corporates, advocates, and influencers to expand SOS's reach and amplify SOS's cause.
  • Work closely with the A&P team to conceptualise and operationalise campaigns and major events that advance the agency's brand, communications, and fundraising objectives.

5. Performance and Impact

  • Measure and analyse the effectiveness of communication initiatives by leveraging qualitative and quantitative data, tracking key performance indicators, and generating actionable insights that strengthen brand presence, optimise audience engagement, and support organisational goals through continuous improvement.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Educational Qualification:

  • Degree in Marketing Communications /Fundraising

Relevant Experience:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in marketing/communications
  • Experience in non-profit/Social Service Agencies would be beneficial
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in design and content tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and CMS platforms
  • Copywriting
