Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Business Development / Country Manager to lead the establishment and growth of our client's operations in Singapore. This is a senior leadership role responsible for setting up local business functions, driving commercial strategies, and forging key partnerships to accelerate market presence and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the setup of operational functions for the company in Singapore, including legal, compliance, finance, HR, and general administration.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to acquire new clients, partners, and commercial opportunities.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders, including regulators, financial institutions, merchants, and technology partners.
- Drive revenue growth by managing sales pipelines, negotiating deals, and closing partnerships in the crypto and fintech ecosystem.
- Collaborate closely with global teams, including product, marketing, and compliance, to tailor offerings for the Singapore market.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform business strategies.
- Represent the company at industry events, forums, and with government bodies to enhance brand visibility and influence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience (8+ years) in business development, country management, or commercial leadership within fintech, payments, or related financial services.
- Deep understanding of the Singapore fintech ecosystem, regulatory environment, and business culture.
- Strong track record in successfully establishing new operations or subsidiaries in Singapore or similar markets.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build trust across diverse groups.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and drive revenue growth.
- Familiarity with crypto payments, blockchain technology, or digital finance is highly desirable.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
