As a Respiratory Therapist (Various Settings), you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Evaluate and adjust patients on mechanical ventilators and provide respiratory support like CPAP, BIPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula.
  • Conduct airway and respiratory procedures, including blood gas sampling, suctioning, bronchoscopy assistance, intubation, extubating, and surfactant administration.
  • Assist in transporting mechanically ventilated patients within and between hospitals.
  • Develop respiratory care plans and recommend therapy changes based on patient assessments.
  • Engage in ward rounds and discussions about patient care plans.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment.
  • Monitor and manage respiratory inventory stock.
  • Provide interprofessional education, training, and guidance to healthcare team members and students.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in research projects.

Requirements:

  • Possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Accredited training institution credentials.
