Stables Supervisor

Duties included:

  • To supervise your grooms to groom each horse at least twice a day and prepare them in the correct tack.
  • Allocate the horses to be exercised on a daily basis or placed in the paddocks, and keep daily records of exercise and paddock activity.
  • Report any disobedience from the staff under your supervision. Such as poor attendance, poor performance at work, cruelty to the horses, neglect of duty of care for the horses, bullying of others, drinking smoking or drug taking.
  • Supervise the correct feeding of horses as per the instructions on the feed board, keep records of feed changes.
  • Arrange cover for the horse care when the groom is absent
  • Supervise the preparation of the horses for Polo or competition ensuring all horses are properly tacked up, groomed and well presented
  • Report any stable maintenance issues.
  • Make sure drains are cleared and washed every week by grooms and cleaners
  • Advise the groom when an owner is coming and make sure horse is prepared
  • Ensure the Polo Ponies get proper care after they play Polo
  • Assist in general duties that may be required to maintain the health and well-being of the horses.

Requirement:

· Relevant knowledge of horse care including dealing with vets and farriers

· Ability to train, supervise and co-ordinate an existing team of grooms

· Self-motivated, confident and thorough person who demonstrates a love for the upkeep and care of horses

· A minimum of 5 years previous experience in a related field

· Qualifications in horse care are beneficial

· Excellent communication skills with fluent English (local language skills including Bahasa, Malay, Tamil and Mandarin would be beneficial)
