The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution and delivery of data center construction projects, with a specialization in Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems. This role ensures all project objectives—quality, schedule, cost, and compliance—are met or exceeded. The Project Manager will lead on-site operations, manage subcontractors and vendors, and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset is essential to drive efficient project execution from initiation to completion.
1. Project Planning & Scope Definition
- Manage the full lifecycle of ACMV projects in data center environments, from initiation to handover.
- Define project scope, deliverables, and resource requirements.
2. Project Scheduling & Budgeting
- Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgets.
- Monitor progress to ensure projects remain on track and within budget.
3. Coordination & Progress Monitoring
- Collaborate with the Senior Project Manager to ensure alignment with deadlines and milestones.
- Track and report project progress, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
4. Subcontractor & Team Management
- Supervise subcontractors, supervisors, and site workers to ensure quality workmanship.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities to resolve design, coordination, or execution challenges.
5. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Maintain adherence to industry codes, legal requirements, and environmental guidelines.
6. Stakeholder Communication
- Provide regular project updates to clients, senior management, and internal teams.
- Highlight progress, risks, and mitigation strategies in a timely manner.
7. Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may impact timelines, costs, or quality.
- Implement contingency plans as needed.
8. Quality Control
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship and system functionality.
- Address any technical or quality issues immediately to prevent delays.
9. Site Reporting
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly site reports.
- Track deviations from project plans and recommend corrective actions.
10. Safety Compliance & Risk Assessment
- Lead safety briefings and enforce adherence to site safety protocols.
- Conduct routine safety assessments and implement corrective actions.
Job Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience working in ACMV systems, including project management and engineering roles.
Educational Qualification:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in ACMV system installation, including CHWP, VRV, and VRF systems.
- Strong technical knowledge in HVAC systems design, installation, and maintenance.
Software Proficiency:
Proficient in using relevant software tools and applications, with a strong understanding of technical drawings and project management software.
Industry Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of ACMV engineering principles, industry standards, and regulations.
Project Management Skills:
Familiarity with project management methodologies, tools, and techniques to ensure successful project execution.
Leadership & Management:
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team, ensuring collaboration and high performance.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Analytical & Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and solving complex issues on the project site.
