What the role is

You provide accurate and timely analysis reports on defence capabilities and related developments in identified countries-of-interest in the Asia-Pacific region.

What you will be working on

  • Conduct research on defence capabilities and related developments in identified countries-of-interest, including the implications of technological development on military capabilities
  • Monitor, analyse and identify trends in their defence procurement strategy, defence collaborations and technology development
  • Lead a research team to produce high-quality, original research reports
  • Present research findings to military leaders and relevant stakeholders
  • Identify new trends and developments that could impact defence capabilities
    Challenge(s)
  • Keeping pace with rapid changes in defence and security landscape
  • Synthesising large amounts of information into clear, concise assessments
  • Delivering high-quality analysis under tight deadlines

What we are looking for

  • Education in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies or related field
  • At least 6 years of experience in defence capability research or analysis
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent writing and communication abilities
  • Comfortable to work independently or part of a team of analysts to work on identified topic-of-interest
  • Interest and knowledge on current technology developments and their implications to defence capability
