
Museum Operations Intern

The Museum Operations Intern will assist with the day-to-day functions that keep the museum running smoothly and ensure a welcoming and organized environment for visitors, staff, and partners. This internship offers hands-on experience across various aspect of museum operations. This is an ideal opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in arts administration, museum studies, cultural management, or related fields.
Key Responsibilities:- Support daily museum operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Assist front-of-house staff with greeting visitors, monitoring gallery spaces, and providing information about exhibitions.
- Help coordinate and set up for events, tours, and public programs.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in public and staff areas.
- Provide administrative support, such as data entry, filing, and supply management.
- Help track visitor feedback and attendance data.
- Support exhibition installations or de-installations under staff supervision.
- Run errands, help with deliveries, and coordinate with vendors when needed.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and security protocols within the museum.
- Gain exposure to the inner workings of a museum environment.
- Develop skills in operations, visitor services, and event logistics.
- Network with museum professionals and gain insight into museum career paths.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, or special projects when available.
- Current student or recent graduate in museum studies, art history, cultural studies, business administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
- Interest in museums, cultural institutions, or nonprofit administration.
