We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will assist in ensuring the smooth execution of construction projects by managing contractual, financial, and cost aspects. You will be responsible for both pre-contract and post-contract administration, working closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Sub-Contractors, and Suppliers to ensure the efficient progress of construction works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overall project cost management, contractual matters, and financial oversight.
  • Study project specifications and prepare relevant documents prior to commencement.
  • Prepare and coordinate Sub-Contractor interim progress claims, including joint inspections with stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, anticipate issues, and report on cost impacts to management.
  • Ensure timely submission of variation order (VO) costs and monthly progress claims, closing final accounts.
  • Evaluate and check Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
  • Project cost estimation for required materials.
  • Participate actively in meetings and distribute updates to the team.
  • Maintain organized correspondences and documentation for easy reference.
  • Assist in sourcing and procurement of materials.
  • Support invitation of quotations, negotiations, and award of sub-contractors.
  • Conduct as-built site measurements and quantity take-offs.
  • Provide assistance and support in ad-hoc tasks as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the contractor industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and other related software.
  • Strong understanding of construction cost estimation, budgeting, and procurement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders.
