Role Overview

Singapore's payments ecosystem is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by innovation in FinTech and the emergence of new business models. With the evolving regulatory landscape, including frameworks like the Payment Services Act, there is a growing need to ensure that payment service providers operate responsibly while contributing to a vibrant and secure financial environment.

This role places you at the heart of regulatory developments in the payments space. You'll be part of a team that evaluates licensing applications and engages with industry stakeholders to shape the future of digital payments in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess licensing applications from payment institutions offering services such as e-money issuance, money transfers, and digital token payments.
  • Analyse new business models and assess their alignment with existing regulatory frameworks.
  • Contribute to policy discussions and legislative reviews related to payment services.
  • Collaborate with industry players to address regulatory challenges and explore potential enhancements to current legislation.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong interest in the payments and FinTech sector.
  • 3 to 15 years of experience in compliance, audit, legal advisory, or financial services regulation.
  • Familiarity with legislative drafting or regulatory policy development.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex business models.
  • A proactive and adaptable team player who thrives in fast-paced environments and can manage multiple priorities.
