Role Overview

Banks are the cornerstone of any financial system. Ensuring their resilience safeguards the savings and trust of everyday individuals and supports the broader economy. In this role, you'll be part of a regulatory team that works closely with other supervisory units to uphold the safety and soundness of financial institutions operating in Singapore.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of a supervisory team overseeing banks and financial institutions, you'll play a key role in ensuring that these entities manage their risks effectively and uphold fair customer practices. Depending on your portfolio, you may be part of a team supervising a major banking group or independently overseeing smaller institutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating the adequacy of risk management frameworks and internal controls.
  • Assessing the suitability of senior management and key appointment holders.
  • Investigating and addressing breaches of regulatory requirements.
  • Engaging directly with senior stakeholders at financial institutions.

Given the international footprint of many banks, you'll also collaborate with overseas regulators to gain a holistic view of banking groups and share supervisory insights. This may involve participating in or organizing supervisory colleges for major financial institutions.

Beyond institution-specific work, you'll have opportunities to contribute to cross-functional initiatives that shape regulatory expectations and industry standards. These may cover areas such as operational resilience, third-party risk, sustainable finance, and corporate governance.

  • Prior experience in financial services, banking, or audit or a strong interest in learning about the sector.
  • Comfort with numbers and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and collaborative skills, with the ability to work across both strategic and operational levels.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders.
