This role offers you the opportunity to work at the heart of treasury, margin, and internal financing operations, where your expertise will be valued and your contributions recognised. You will be part of an inclusive environment that encourages knowledge sharing, professional growth, and continuous improvement. The organisation is committed to providing flexible working opportunities and generous training programmes to help you develop your skills further. If you are looking for a position where your analytical abilities and attention to detail can make a real impact, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

  • Work within a knowledgeable and dependable team that values collaboration and mutual support, ensuring you always have access to guidance and shared expertise.
  • Benefit from flexible working opportunities and ongoing training programmes designed to nurture your professional development and personal growth.
  • Enjoy a workplace culture that promotes inclusivity, enthusiasm, and supportive leadership, making it an ideal environment for those who thrive in communal settings.

What You'll Do
As a Treasury Operations Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing complex processes related to margin calls, collateral management, cashflow optimisation, and internal financing. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with both internal teams and external counterparties as you process margin calls, verify regulatory requirements, analyse diverse margin models, and facilitate accurate collateral movements. You will also work hand-in-hand with the group treasury team to identify opportunities for optimising cash balances while forecasting future needs based on detailed analysis. In addition to these core duties, you will manage monthly attributions for portfolio managers, provide clear explanations regarding internal financing charges, and drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency. Your involvement in system integration projects will further contribute to streamlining workflows across all aspects of treasury operations.

  • Process and validate margin calls with bilateral counterparties, clearing brokers, and prime brokers while investigating discrepancies and challenging margin call amounts as needed.
  • Verify Uncleared Margin Rules versus non-regulatory Initial Margin calls to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Analyse various margin models across different counterparties, understanding the differences between futures exchanges, clearing houses, and bilateral agreements.
  • Handle collateral pledging or cash wire transfers related to margin calls with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate closely with the group treasury team to optimise firm cashflow balances by identifying opportunities for interest optimisation.
  • Analyse cashflow usage patterns of the fund and report findings to the group treasury for strategic decision-making.
  • Forecast cashflow usage based on historical data and current trends to support effective treasury management.
  • Manage monthly margin usage attribution to portfolio managers, ensuring transparency in internal financing charges.
  • Understand the internal financing charge model thoroughly and analyse any gaps in charges compared to market standards, addressing queries from portfolio managers with clear explanations.
  • Lead initiatives and projects aimed at improving process workflows across margin operations, treasury management, and internal financing; participate actively in new system setup and integration efforts.

What You Bring

As someone who is analytical yet empathetic towards colleagues' needs, you excel at problem-solving through collaboration rather than competition. Your commitment to accuracy is matched by your enthusiasm for learning new skills—whether through formal training or hands-on project involvement. Intermediate coding abilities may help automate routine tasks or improve reporting efficiency but are not essential; what matters most is your willingness to share insights generously within a supportive team setting. Valuation expertise adds further value by enabling more robust verification processes around variation margins.

  • 3-8 years of relevant experience in collateral management, treasury operations or middle office functions within financial services is essential for success in this role.
  • A solid working knowledge of key margin terminology such as Initial Margin, Independent Amounts, Uncleared Margin Rules is required for effective performance.

  • Demonstrated ability as a dependable team player who thrives when collaborating with others on shared goals within tight deadlines.
  • Enthusiasm for working in an inclusive environment that values flexibility and communal achievement over individual competition.
  • A strong control mindset paired with a sense of ownership ensures responsible handling of sensitive financial processes
