This role is responsible for day-to-day contract reviewing and providing legal guidance on maritime issues, shipping contracts, and international trade regulations, with a focus on the trading of oil and gas commodities. You will work closely with internal teams across legal, operations, and commercial departments to ensure compliance with international laws and to optimize risk management strategies for global trade activities.
The ideal candidate is familiar with international trade law and maritime law, with solid experience advising on shipping contracts and trade regulations in the commodity trading sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle complex legal challenges related to shipping and trade.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide legal services and support to Trading businesses.
- Prepare, review, and advise on contracts and other legal matters as required.
- Negotiate and resolve disputes related to Trading and other businesses.
- Maintain compliance with laws and internal regulations concerning Trading and other activities.
- Monitor legal developments and advise management on their impact, recommending compliance strategies when necessary.
Job Requirements
- Possess a good LLB degree from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 2 years of legal experience.
- Post-Qualified Experience, with a litigation background, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of trade and shipping law is an advantage.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
