Job Scope:
Purchaser Assistant
- To be competent & manage procurement activities for fabricated parts & to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Fabricated parts including welded hollow section structures, aluminum profile structures, sheet metal parts, plastic & metal precision & semi precision parts.
- To establish proactive and positive long-term partnership with quality & key vendors to achieve ultimate quality & cost savings.
- To be a team player & collaborate with cross-functional in-house teams to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- To update & maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and other relevant documents via the In-house SCM inventory systems.
- To stay relevant & resourceful in the selection & qualifying of new suppliers and vendor-supplier management.
- Local Delivery: to perform logistics duties ranging from packing, documentation, stuffing & unstuffing, loading & unloading for local delivery.
- Receiving: to receive both fabricated & standard parts from local & overseas delivery as & when assigned by the project teams.
- Receiving: to co-ordinate all corresponding mandatory requirements, documentation & clearance for parts received locally & overseas.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma / Bachelor Degree in supply chain management or related field
- Min 1-2 year of purchaser experience
- Experience with fabricated parts is a plus
Procurement Executive
- Source and procure materials & services required for project and factory needs.
- Negotiate for the best price and terms for all purchase and ensure they are in compliance with specification and schedules.
- Monitor and expedite to ensure items are delivery on time for project use.
- Sourcing suppliers, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal.
- Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization.
- Liaising with suppliers on the delivery and warehouse teams to ensure goods are received on time.
- Monitor market trends, provide analysis on costs.
- Prepare reports and updates as and when required.
- Work closely with others in the procurement function.
- Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and blanket order.
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
- Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships.
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.
- Conduct research for new components and suppliers.
- Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.
- Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance.
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues.
- Any adhoc Work assigned by HOD/General Manager
Job Requirements:
- Diploma / Bachelor Degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering and economics or any related field
- Minimum 2 year of working experience in similar positions.
