Position Title: Café Hospitality Intern

Department: Café Operations / Front-of-House

Reports To: Café Manager / Supervisor

Location: Central/ CBD/ Marina Square

Duration: 6 months


Role Overview

We are looking for passionate and service-oriented Hospitality Management students to join our café as interns. This internship provides hands-on experience in café operations, customer engagement, and F&B service excellence. Interns will learn how a café is managed day-to-day, from serving guests to supporting operational workflows.


Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and interact with customers, ensuring a warm and friendly café experience.
  • Assist in taking orders, preparing beverages, and serving food items.
  • Support café operations such as order fulfilment, table service, and clearing.
  • Learn and apply POS (point-of-sale) systems, cashiering, and payment handling.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Participate in inventory checks, stock replenishment, and display arrangements.
  • Assist with in-house promotions, events, and customer loyalty programs.
  • Shadow café supervisors and managers to understand daily scheduling, workflow, and service management.

Learning Outcomes
  • Gain practical experience in café and F&B operations.
  • Develop customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Learn barista skills and the basics of café menu preparation (where applicable).
  • Understand how to manage peak-hour operations and provide efficient service.
  • Acquire knowledge of inventory, cost control, and daily café management.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Diploma/Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or related field.
  • Interest in F&B and café culture.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, teamwork spirit, and customer-first mindset.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays (as required).
