Role Purpose

The Lead/Assistant Director, Industry Development & Government Relations is responsible for advancing the Chamber's strategic priorities in industry development, policy advocacy, and government engagement. A central part of this role is to partner with SICC's Communities (sectoral and functional platforms) and Interest Groups to advance members' interests, strengthen engagement, and position SICC as a trusted voice in Singapore's business ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Industry Development & Communities

· Partner with CEO, SICC Management, Communities and Interest Groups to identify industry trends, challenges, and opportunities.

· Translate discussions into actionable initiatives, capability development programmes, and advocacy agendas.

· Support Community Chairs in designing impactful events, dialogues, and projects showcasing member expertise.

· Facilitate cross-sector collaboration for ecosystem-wide initiatives.

· Track and measure outcomes, ensuring alignment with SICC's strategic goals.

Government & Stakeholder Relations

· Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with ministries, statutory boards, and regulators.

· Serve as the link between members and government, ensuring concerns raised are reflected in policy dialogues.

· Represent SICC in consultations, taskforces, and industry dialogues, advocating members' perspectives.

· Facilitate bilateral and multilateral collaborations with foreign chambers, embassies, and industry partners.

Policy Advocacy & Thought Leadership

  • Monitor developments in trade, taxation, sustainability, digitalisation, and industry transformation; brief Chamber and members regularly.

  • Draft position papers, submissions, and advocacy materials in consultation with the CEO and members.

  • Contribute data-driven insights to reinforce SICC's credibility as a partner in government–industry dialogue.
  • Support the CEO's thought leadership by preparing content for speeches, interviews, and external engagements.

Leadership & Collaboration

· Work with the CEO and Committees to define strategic advocacy and industry priorities.

· Provide guidance and content support to Community Chairs to strengthen their impact and visibility.

· Collaborate across Chamber teams to integrate outputs into member value delivery.

· Support Communities, policy, and industry development activities.

· Undertake other duties as assigned by the CEO.

Ideal Candidate Profile

· –10 years' experience in government relations, public policy, industry development, or trade associations/chambers.

· Strong network with Singapore government agencies, trade bodies, and industry leaders.

· Proven track record in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and programme design.

· Experience managing member-driven platforms (Chapters, councils, interest groups).

· Excellent communication and negotiation skills, including policy writing.

· Analytical, forward-looking, and commercially astute with strong project management skills.
