Location: North

Remuneration: Base up to $8,000 + Variable Bonus + Allowances

Working Arrangement: 1-year contract, renewable/convertible into client headcount based on performance (Long-term project)

Job Responsibilities

1. Database Management

  • Install, configure, and maintain database software and tools.
  • Monitor and optimize performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Set up database backups and disaster recovery processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, performing root cause analysis.

2. Data Security

  • Apply and maintain database security policies.
  • Manage user access and permissions.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

3. Database Design & Development

  • Work with developers to design and improve database schemas.
  • Optimize designs for performance and scalability.
  • Maintain documentation and database standards.

4. Database Administration

  • Manage database users, roles, and permissions.
  • Perform upgrades, patches, and ensure system stability.
  • Configure and maintain replication and clustering for high availability.

5. Performance Tuning & Optimization

  • Analyze and optimize queries and indexes.
  • Monitor performance metrics and apply tuning strategies.
  • Identify and fix performance bottlenecks.
Qualification & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in database management.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or similar DBMS.
  • Hands-on experience in performance tuning, replication and SQL programming.
  • Experience with MongoDB performance tuning and administration.
  • Knowledge of high availability solutions (clustering, mirroring, availability groups).
  • Experience in SSRS report development and SSIS/ETL is a plus.
  • Experience in public sector industry is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Due to security cleareance requirements, this role is open to Singaporeans only.
