Metal Recycling Manager

We are seeking an experienced Metal Recycling Manager with strong knowledge of the metal recycling industry to lead our operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing procurement, recycling processes, compliance, and team leadership to drive sustainability and business growth. This role is critical in ensuring efficiency, safety, and profitability in our recycling operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the metal recycling facility, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, quality control, and recycling yield.
  • Manage procurement of scrap metals and coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and logistics partners.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, pricing, and demand in the metal recycling industry to support business growth.
  • Lead and supervise a team of operational staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Prepare operational reports, cost analyses, and forecasts for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with the sales/export team on supply, inventory, and customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for process optimisation.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of management experience in the metal recycling, waste management, or related industry .
  • Strong knowledge of scrap metal categories, recycling processes, and international trading practices.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and regulatory compliance in recycling operations.
  • Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel when required for site inspections, supplier visits, or industry events.
