About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst – Nostro Reconciliation to join a leading global consulting environment on a 1-year contract. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of Nostro reconciliations, supporting both daily operational needs and wider transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cash/Nostro reconciliations, experience with reconciliation platforms (such as SmartStream, Duco, or Intellimatch), and the ability to act as a subject matter expert (SME). This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to control strengthening, issue resolution, and automation projects within a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee daily Nostro reconciliations, ensuring breaks are identified, investigated, and resolved promptly.
  • Monitor exception workflows and escalate aged breaks to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Treasury, Product Control, IT, and external counterparties to resolve discrepancies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of reconciliation breaks and implement preventive measures to enhance control effectiveness.
  • Ensure reconciliations adhere to internal policy, regulatory, and audit requirements.
  • Drive automation and process optimization through reconciliation platforms (SmartStream, Duco, Intellimatch, or similar).
  • Participate in system configuration, testing, and deployment of new reconciliation rules.
  • Maintain clear process documentation, SOPs, and training guides.
  • Provide coaching and support to junior analysts or new team members.
  • Contribute to transformation projects such as system migrations, regulatory reporting, and process re-engineering.

Skills & Experience Required

  • 3–6 years of experience in Nostro or cash reconciliation within financial services.
  • Practical experience with reconciliation platforms (SmartStream, Duco, Intellimatch, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of Nostro accounts, settlements, and cash management workflows.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify patterns and root causes.
  • Effective communicator, capable of liaising with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, and Technology.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and control standards (e.g., SOX, Basel, local regulations) is a plus.
