Company Overview

My client is a prestigious Family Office and is seeking an experienced and meticulous Financial Controller to oversee their comprehensive financial operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong background in full-cycle accounting and financial management.

Job Description

  • Manage all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, treasury, and tax compliance.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Oversee cash flow management, investment tracking, and tailored financial reporting for the family office.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, lawyers, and other professionals to ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to the Finance VP and family principals.
  • Mentor, train, and manage a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Support ad-hoc financial projects, and strategic initiatives as required.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controllership or similar leadership role overseeing the full financial close cycle.
  • Prior experience within a Family Office, Public Accounting, or sophisticated multi-entity environments is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, developing, and mentoring a team.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills, experience with ERP system implementation or optimization is a strong plus.
