Position Summary

The Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment. This role involves managing reservations, seating arrangements, and ensuring a positive dining experience through excellent customer service and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Guest Reception

  2. Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.

  3. Confirm reservations and assist walk-in guests with seating arrangements.

  4. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.

  5. Seating Management

  6. Maintain and manage an organized seating chart.

  7. Ensure efficient seating flow during peak hours to optimize table turnover.

  8. Coordinate with servers to balance workloads and maintain smooth service.

  9. Reservations and Waitlist

  10. Handle phone and online reservations, including confirming and updating bookings.

  11. Manage the waitlist during busy periods and provide accurate wait-time estimates.

  12. Guest Assistance

  13. Answer guest inquiries about the menu, special events, or restaurant policies.

  14. Assist with special requests such as birthday setups or dietary accommodations.

  15. Handle any guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and escalate if needed.

  16. Atmosphere and Ambiance

  17. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entrance, waiting area, and hostess station.

  18. Ensure the dining area maintains a welcoming and presentable appearance.

  19. Team Collaboration

  20. Communicate with the kitchen, servers, and management to ensure smooth operations.

  21. Support other team members during busy periods as needed.
