About the role

Jurong Port Universal Terminal Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced IT System Engineer to join our team. As an IT System Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our complex IT infrastructure. This full-time position is based on Jurong Island, and will play a crucial role in supporting the overall business objectives of our company.

What you'll be doing

IT Infrastructure Systems Management:

  • Responsible for managing IT infrastructure, including Windows Servers, networks (Cisco, Aruba), firewalls (CheckPoint), and backups (Veeam). Duties include administering Active Directory (including Entra ID), supporting Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, maintaining internal web applications and the corporate website, and ensuring the security, availability, and performance of enterprise systems and databases.

Security & Disaster Recovery Management:

  • Manage firewall rules, VPN access, and user permissions to maintain a secure computing environment. Configure network infrastructure to enhance efficiency and security. Conduct disaster recovery exercises to ensure system resilience.

Database Management & Enterprise Software Support:

  • Administer and monitor MSSQL database performance, and support enterprise software systems (Oracle EBS, ODM, MMS), including managing service incidents, requests, and change processes.

End User Computing:

  • Oversee IT asset management and handle user requests for computer and mobile device setup. Ensure timely and efficient technical support for hardware, software, network, and telephony issues. Provide after-hours remote support on a rotating schedule.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Responsible for planning and executing IT CAPEX and OPEX budgets, managing IT projects, coordinating with vendors, and handling maintenance renewals.

What we're looking for

  • Diploma / Degree qualification in IT or computer science discipline with minimum 3 years or more relevant experience;
  • Basic project management experience;
  • Extensive IT Infrastructure management and administration experience;
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL;
  • Critical thinking and problem solving mind-set, proactive and highly organised multi-tasker to drive continuous improvement;
  • Independent, team-oriented, and willing to coach non-IT savvy employees;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and positive-minded.
