Control Room Operator

POSITION PURPOSE

Join Certis Australia as a Control Room Operator (CRO) at Scentre Group (Westfield, SA). Reporting to the Site Security Supervisor, the CRO is responsible for overseeing live monitoring, coordinating incident responses, and supporting on-ground security operations through advanced surveillance systems.

This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring site safety, maintaining system integrity, and delivering exceptional service to our client. Certis also proudly supports operations at key locations including Westfield Tea Tree Plaza, Westfield West Lakes, and Westfield Marion, where we continue to drive high standards of safety and service across all sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems in real-time to identify and respond to incidents promptly.
• Liaise with on-ground security personnel to coordinate responses and ensure the safety of customers, staff, and assets.
• Log and report all incidents, system faults, and operational activities accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform routine system checks to ensure functionality and address minor troubleshooting tasks.
• Support the execution of emergency protocols including evacuation coordination and escalation procedures.
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in all communications and operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatory:

• Victorian Security Licence with Control Room (CRO) endorsement
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Full working rights in Australia

Desirable:

• Certificate II or III in Security Operations
• Experience working in a control room or fast-paced monitoring environment

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Strong communication and coordination skills (both verbal and written)
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Confidence using security software, surveillance systems, and radio communications
• Availability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, nights, and public holidays
• High attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely
