Scope of Work for Planning Engineer

Reviewing Documents, ensure feasibility and constructability

  • To review, check on consultant's base / concept design.
  • To review drawing issued for approval.
  • To identify any discrepancies or inconsistencies that may impact to construction.
  • Review documents such as MOS prepared by sub-contractor & to identify if any clash with others activities.
  • Review contract documents on scope of work, when necessary, specifications, contractual obligations.

Value engineering

  • Evaluate alternative systems to reduce construction costs
  • Recommending any cost-effective solution
  • Optimize design & construction process

Material selection & Specification

  • To understand the specification and to meet project employer's specification

Construction Support

  • Provide technical support during construction, including responding to contractor inquiries
  • Monitor construction progress, identify potential issues & implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors and all relevant parties to assist site team on complex technical issues
  • Assist in interpreting drawing, specifications to site team & sub-contractors.
  • To review & advise on material selection from multiple supplier/subcontractors. To understand further detail and to make some comparison for project team.
  • Prepare Logistic Planning such Method Statement, site access planning, construction sequence, tower crane planning, PM Hoist Planning, etc.
  • External Work coordination such as Method Statement, Lane/Road Closure, Authority document preparation, submission and clearance.
  • Preparation and Follow up on the RI, TOP Inspection & Comments.
  • Monitoring construction program and preparing submission schedule .
  • Monitor work progress at site, plan sub tasks in details, understand and coordinate structural, architectural and M&E works requirements.
  • Responsible for site sequences and requirements, design temporary works requirements, resolve drawings discrepancies.
  • Formwork Planning in terms of coordination of drawing, material procurement, execution on site.
  • Maintain event records.
  • Maintain Risk Register in order to foresee the possibility of occurrence and take corrective actions in conjunction with the Technical Manager / Project Manager.
  • Generate Executive Report for the management

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in building projects
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong knowledge of construction codes, regulations, and standards
  • Leadership and team coordination skills
