Assistant Design Manager

Our esteemed client is a world-class and award-winning giant conglomerate in the
building and construction industry. As part of its expansionary plan, it is seeking to
employ an experienced professional to join them as
Assistant Design Manager (Building & Construction Industry)
(Ref: KH320)
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Design Management team.
He/She is expected to assist Design Departments of companies in the Group (currently
Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi and Jakarta) with design management services for Design
Build Projects.
The Job
 Assist in reviewing RFP documents / drawings for Bid and assist GM in setting up
the Bid strategy
 Coordinate and Attend Design Review Meetings with Group Company's Design
Departments and give appropriate advice and design suggestions.
 Review design documents / drawings from the architect's viewpoint and provide
alternative suggestions, where necessary.
 Attend periodic meetings with Japan HQ.
 Coordinate and attend Design Unit Annual Meeting with General Managers of
Group Company.
 Visit Group Company's Design Department periodically, once a month preferred,
and talk with management team and national staff and attend Design Review
Meetings locally held for Design Standard Establishment
 Assist with research of Design Specification / Common Specification of Singapore,
Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan, and report to GM.
 Assist GM in establishing Design Standard of APRHQ Building Design
Department, incl. Architecture / Structural / Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing
(MEP), and help group company's design department to localize. APRHQ Design
Standard should include, but not be limited to, Design Specification, Coding Rule,
and document rules.
 Submit periodic progress reports to GM about the implementation of establishment
and localization.
 Support other departments of APRHQ in establishing Construction Specifications
Institute CSI format coding / estimation related to design specification / drawings.
 Assist Business Development Department to get any information about
new/current/past projects by meeting/communicating with clients / design
consultants / contractors.
 Assist Japan HQ in providing any project-related information.
 Support projects in Japan by meeting/communicating with Singapore clients /
design consultants / contractors.

The Candidate
 An Architect Licence of Singapore or Japan
 A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architecture or related field.
 At least 10 years of relevant working experience.
 Experience in international design or construction projects
 Experience in conceptualising design using CAD and 3D software
 Willing to travel for business (frequency to be discussed)
 Strong working knowledge of architectural design, drawings, and details.
 Knowledge of local and international regulations and engineering standards
 Knowledge of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), WELL and
other sustainability design
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Able to work independently and as a team.
 People-oriented with strong interpersonal skills to manage internal and external
stakeholders.
 Strong organizational and conflict resolution skills.
 Ability to analyse and synthesize complex issues quickly.
 Strong time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to
manage multiple tasks at one time.
 Resourceful and assertive.
 Physically fit / healthy, able to work well under pressure
