We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Design Engineer (Automation) to join our client, specializing in the mechanical design and development of factory automation equipment for the electronics manufacturing industry, including applications in semiconductor and PCB assembly.

Location:North Working days: 5 days Working hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and clients to understand product design requirements and specifications.
  • Analyze project needs and contribute to the generation of design concepts.
  • Design high-precision, advanced automation equipment.
  • Select appropriate standard components, including sensors, pneumatics, motors, servo axes, and robotics.
  • Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) using SAP.
  • Coordinate with fabrication vendors and component suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide regular updates on project status to the Project Manager and management.
  • Support and guide assembly technicians during equipment assembly and testing.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, and quality assurance) to ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3- 5 years of hands-on experience in designing automation equipment.
  • Background in factory automation is a strong advantage.
  • Skilled in selecting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and sensor components.
  • Proficient in using SolidWorks 3D and EPDM software for design and data management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Well-versed in industry standards and regulations related to machine safety and performance (e.g., ISO, IEC).
  • Familiar with reliability engineering concepts and methodologies.
  • Candidates holding an N3 Laser License will have an added advantage.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
