Design Coordinator (Architecture)

Salary: $5,000 – $6,500 per month

Employment Type: Permanent (with Variable Bonus every July)

Working Hours: 5.25 days per week (Mon – Fri: 9am – 6pm, Alternate Sat: 9am – 1pm)

Location: Jurong Region


Key Responsibilities

Design Coordination

  • Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to align design intent with technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Organize and document design meetings, ensuring clarity on updates and action items.

Documentation Management

  • Oversee preparation, review, and distribution of architectural drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
  • Ensure all design submissions comply with local codes, client standards, and timelines.

Quality Control

  • Conduct site inspections to verify adherence to design specifications.
  • Review material submissions and shop drawings from subcontractors, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Arrange meetings with consultants to obtain approval for shop drawings and materials.
  • Address design discrepancies and provide workable solutions with the project team.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams (MEP, structural, etc.) to resolve clashes and optimize efficiency.
  • Assist clients and consultants in obtaining statutory approvals (e.g., BCA, URA).

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Design Coordinator, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry.
  • Strong expertise in architectural design coordination, project management, and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit) with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams.
  • Solid knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office and project management tools.
