Role Overview

Our client, a well-established company in the power electronics and technology manufacturing sector, is looking for two Product Development Engineers to join their R&D team in Singapore.

We welcome both fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds and experienced engineers with proven expertise in power electronics, control systems, or embedded firmware development.


What You'll Do

1. Design & Development

  • Design, model, and implement analog and digital control systems for switch-mode power converters.
  • Develop and maintain firmware for MCU/DSP-based controllers, including bootloaders and peripheral drivers.

2. Simulation, Prototyping & Testing

  • Simulate new circuits, build prototypes, and conduct bench testing and performance measurement.
  • Develop and execute verification and validation plans including electrical, thermal, EMI/EMC, and reliability tests.

3. Documentation & Release

  • Prepare and maintain design documentation, schematics, test plans, BOMs, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Ensure proper traceability of design changes and technical documentation.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with mechanical, PCB, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to ensure smooth production transfer.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for component sourcing, magnetic design, and qualification testing.

5. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure designs meet safety and environmental standards (IEC, UL, RoHS, REACH).
  • Adhere to ISO 9001:2015 practices and documentation discipline.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in design reviews, cost-reduction initiatives, and reliability improvement projects.
  • (For senior roles) Mentor junior engineers and support internal technical training.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Master's Degree or postgraduate studies will be advantageous.

Experience Level:

  • Entry-Level: 0–1 year of relevant experience or internship in power electronics or embedded systems.
  • Senior-Level: 5+ years of relevant experience in product design, development, or system integration.

Technical Expertise:

  • Power supply topology design (flyback, buck, boost, resonant converters).
  • Magnetic component design and thermal/EMI management.
  • Control loop design, compensation, and stability analysis.
  • Firmware development in C/C++ for MCU/DSP; knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART, PMBus, CAN.
  • Simulation tools (PSpice, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, Mathcad).
  • Experience with lab instruments (oscilloscope, electronic load, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
  • Familiarity with DFM, DFT, FMEA, reliability testing, and ISO 9001 documentation.
