The Business Development Representative role is the entry point to a rewarding sales career in Software AG, Australia. The purpose of the role is to realize the potential of connecting technology and people for a smarter tomorrow by finding new customers or new projects for existing clients. As such this is a key role in the success of the Software AG business.
The role supports Account Managers by working together as a team to manage key clients, handle day-to-day activities and boost sales. The role is centered around the generation of qualified business opportunities.
The responsibilities:
  • Working closely with the Account Managers on campaigns and marketing events to prospect new opportunities.
  • Qualify leads through direct conversations with clients to determine the appropriate next steps in the sales/evaluation process.
  • Keep clients up to date with new products and information.
  • Building pipeline and revenue growth within the designated territory.
  • Research and Discover business opportunities within greenfield accounts
The skillset which you should have:
  • Experience in sales, marketing, or related field.
  • Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to flourish with mínimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent active listening, presentation, and communication skills in-person, over the phone, and virtually
  • Discover and understand the customer's business challenges and needs.
  • Understanding of the sales processes
  • High level of product expertise and customer service for assigned accounts
  • Fluent English skills, written and spoken
  • Can converse in Cantonese to effectively work on Hong Kong Market.
  • Proficient in Sales Automation (Salesforce), Outreach

Who are you?

  • 3+ years within lead generation / Business Development
  • Consistent adherence to activity reporting in designated tools
  • Creativity & collaboration with Account Managers
  • To be pro-active and self-initiated actions
  • Degree of planning and self-organization
  • A hunter mentality
  • Prior experience working in inside sales or with sales partners will be a plus
