The Job

This role is responsible for fire and safety measures across the company, ensuring the premises regularly meet required standards. It includes routine maintenance of firefighting and safety equipment, along with supporting general maintenance tasks.

What You Can Expect of the Job

Fire Safety Management

  • Serve as the designated Fire Safety Manager, conducting regular fire risk assessments and maintaining full compliance with SCDF regulations.
  • Monthly inspections with fire maintenance vendors
  • Annual reviews of fire safety policies and the Emergency Response Plan (ERP)
  • Prepare with SAFI for Fire Certificate submission (e.g., PE inspections, hydrant/hose reel checks, fire exit plans)
  • Develop fire emergency response plans and evacuation procedures
  • Conduct In-house CERT training programs including firefighting, rescue, and spillage control
  • Conduct annual fire drills and in-house training for staff, Fire Wardens, and First Aiders, covering basic firefighting, extinguisher use, and evacuation procedures.
  • Liaise with SCDF and relevant authorities on enforcement matters, audits, and building renovation/fire safety improvements

Workplace Safety & Health (WSH)

  • Ensure workplace compliance with WSH laws, regulations, and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and monitor contractors for WSH compliance; review PTWs, safety passes, RAs, and method statements.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses; ensure incident reporting and legal compliance.
  • Identify root causes and work with departments to implement corrective actions.
  • Lead monthly safety meetings; review and update safety policies, RAs, and SWPs; serve as central safety liaison.
  • Manage BizSafe audits every 3 years and coordinate certificate renewals.
  • Organize safety training (e.g., onboarding, WAH, equipment use) and maintain records of inspections, incidents, and meetings.

Facilities Maintenance

  • Attend any vendor/ internal stakeholder meeting with contractors for project related work
  • Assist in the Purchase Request and Purchase Order creation
  • Assist in first level repair / troubleshooting with the maintenance team
  • Act as a second safety man for electrical works rectification when required
  • Assist in the liaising and supervision of contractors for Passenger Lift Servicing, Cargo Lift, overhead cranes servicing
  • General understanding and basic troubleshooting of HVAC systems
  • Maintain worklog of daily tasks completed
  • Support safety documentation and ensure smooth communication between stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Management.

What We Expect of You

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience as a WSHO and FSM.
  • Must be registered under SCDF with valid fire safety manager certificate.
  • Minimum WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health Level B.
  • Deep understanding of WSH legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry safety standards.
  • Proficient in risk assessments, safety inspections, and investigating workplace incidents.
