Job Responsibilities:
- Market & Strategy
Do market research to spot trends, competition, and unmet needs.
Work with teams to make business strategies matching the company's long-term goals.
Set clear KPIs for business expansion (e.g., new clients, partnership revenue).
- Client Management
Target high-value clients (e.g., high-net-worth individuals, corporate clients).
Handle client acquisition: reach out, present services, negotiate, and close deals.
Maintain long-term client relationships, upsell/cross-sell, and keep retention high.
- Strategic Partnerships
Find partnership opportunities (e.g., with fintechs, insurance firms).
Negotiate and finalize partnership contracts, ensuring compliance.
Manage post-partnership work: coordinate integration, track performance, and solve issues.
- Product Promotion
Collaborate with marketing to promote new/existing financial products.
Collect client feedback and share it with the product team for improvements.
Educate clients on complex financial solutions to drive adoption.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with risk teams to ensure compliance with laws (e.g., AML, KYC).
Coordinate with operations to fix client issues and optimize workflows.
Align with finance to track BD performance and support budgeting.
- Reporting
Prepare regular BD reports for management (KPI progress, trends, risks).
Analyze strategy effectiveness and suggest adjustments.
Keep records of client interactions, partnerships, and pipelines via CRM tools.
Requirements:
Core Requirements:
Experience & Background
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in business development, corporate strategy, partnering with financial institutions, or a related commercial function, with a significant focus on the APAC region.
Demonstrated experience in a role requiring a strong understanding of Technology/IT platforms (e.g., APIs, AI/ML).
Proven track record in a highly regulated environment, with specific experience navigating compliance and regulatory frameworks in Singapore, Australia, New Zealand or other major Asian financial/digital hubs.
Strong knowledge of cross-border payment, remittance and security trading.
Education & Technical Skills
Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of modern BD tools and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and communication skills in English and Mandarin.
